Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

These ministers perform a very special function for our parish family.  Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest at the celebration of the Mass by presenting the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ during Holy Communion.  These ministers also take Holy Communion to our Homebound parishioners and those in the Nursing Home at Rockford Manor.  New ministers must attend two 2 hour training sessions conducted by the Archdiocesan Office of Worship.  These ministers must show an exemplary living in the practice of our faith and be mandated by Archbishop Kurtz to serve in this ministry.  The length of commitment for this ministry is left to the individual, however, the mandate is for a period of five (5) years.
